funny to look back on previous eekdom and see what remains of that mighty terrain.

have moved into a place with no internet (no phone line actually, it's quite liberating). managed the first 3 wks or so without any computer at all before finally caving in.

school reunion was quite tedious, definitely a substandard morning tea, and the people who turned up were pretty much just as i'd left them, in a steaming cloud of benign indifference.

new house is nice. housemates are sweet folk (although one is evil with a stupid boyfriend and the other one likes me to watch Idol with her). spend far too much time at work and with work people, but they are bringing me wine and biscuits now, so all is not lost.

have embraced the mantle of permanent spinsterhood since finding out i don't need to acquire cats if i can just make doilies as substitute.

er, the exodus of lovely people from Brisbane continues (dear U.K., how come we send you so many lovely people and you only seem to send us complete bastards? Yours in colonial denial, jane). um, people giving birth, surprise pregnancies (of all varieties), laughing at other peoples' mortgages, shouting at someone for calling me a grownup.

and still boring. missing the bus trips and letting brain unravel. but i just thought you should know that at about 11:30 last night a man wearing a truckers cap but no shirt put something at the feet of a statue in the ANZAC memorial park.

and the ducks play under the sprinklers.
