2007-07-17 - 8:00 p.m. eeks on a few levels: 1. work: general. i'm not coping and people who think they are helping me are in fact lining up to lie in my path like pleasant and attractive obstacle course mega-structures. but that's too tiresome to even whinge about. 2. work: specific. being called first thing this morning (when I was running late courtesy of a bus that missed the freeway turnoff) to a very important meeting about the future of my workplace conducted by big bosses who obviously have big picture vision without much knowledge of grassroots details - i.e. all the stuff they were talking about (so they realised they should invite me to this meeting. 5 minutes before it started). but this is all irrelevant, i'm actually most grumpy about the fact that i was expecting to be ferreting away out of public sight today so had to turn up to big boss meeting wearing tatty jeans and rather stained hoodie. sitting through this whole thing about strategic targets and capital campaigns while wanting to shout out "i'm usually nattier than this!" 3. have decided to move on Friday rather than try to move during semester. 4. forgot i have high school reunion on saturday morning. at 9 in the arsing morning. not eek: 2. i can always beat people to death if they don't get out of my way. or maybe just tell them to eat poo. either can be entertaining and educational. 3. because i shabbed up today, have plenty of natty threads in my clean laundry hummock. 4. only have to move stuff in on Friday. can finish moving stuff out of here at leisurely pace, so no need to panic. 5. am mostly going to reunion because i want to see what a $15 morning tea looks like. being mid-move gives a good reason to escape early (as grateful as I am to my friend who offered to get her daughter to be sick on me as alternative excuse). i don't think i'm freaking out about being unmarried, no kids and not really having a grownup job, so not going through the usual reunion issues. (but that really smacks of rationalisation to me... we'll see what happens saturday) |
