very bad at those decision things, so maybe writing it down helps think through it. (so this is not really interesting)

house is, er, studenty. when i was being all nice n stuff, did make mention of the "period features" (i.e. most of everything was built in the 20s and hasn't been changed). toilet is decorated with band posters (but nice ones!), there's a barred window with a table runner tacked over it. noticeable cracks and flakes in the paint all over the place.

despite high ceilings, feels like one of those freezing in winter, boiling in summer places.

Oh, and I get the small room. And it is a pretty small room.

rent is okay, but not really as cheap as it should be.

location is great. if i weren't such a lazy bastard, could walk to work. am 2 mins from the bus stop in any case, 5 mins to train.

housemate seems lovely. very chatty though. might not be a good thing, don't want to have to reinstate my "undercaffeinated/ shitty/ sleep-drived/ ennui-riddled : do not talk to me" flash cards. on the other hand, she is a hot scandinavian chick who gets free stuff just for being pretty. this is a handy thing. am somewhat dubious about the current agreement on walking around in underwear (i don't mind if anyone else does, I just kinda like wearing clothes and don't want to feel pressured into false emancipation).

on the plus side, she loves soup and cleaning, but she can't cook. i love cooking soup but hate doing the washing up. this bit will definitely work.

in summary: location and living with someone who is not a maniac and pays bills and stuff -- check
kind of shabby place with small room and not much in the way of kitchen bench space -- bad

argh. don't know. probably could find something better, but i don't think i'll get round to it. grump grump grump.
