and there's only the washing machine and the toaster that haven't been hassling me over the past few weeks. i shall give them medals for loyalty and invite them to secret little parties to make all the misbehaving appliances feel slighted. i will share little side-glances and personal jokes with the washing machine and the toaster and share confidences. the other appliances will never catch us sneering at them, but they'll know it's going on behind their backs.

and vengeance shall be mine. sweet, petty vengeance on inanimate objects that thwart me.

will tell the oddities of Friday another time as i just realised i have to get up in bout 4 hours to drive my mum to the airport. i'm sure there's an aviation reason for it all, but i can't help but think early-departing international flights are deliberately designed for the personal vexation of family and friends.
