Weird. Just received one of those promotional type brochures in the mail. Whereas most of the ones I get are either for credit cards (i'm kinda tempted to fill in the application and post it in the sure and certain knowledge that my current financial situation would see me rejected and probably struck off their annoying marketing list) or for mortgage plans (hmm... can i pay off a mortgage in baked goods and home-made felt hats?) and a recent one for cheap solar heater installation (which i might have gone for if i owned a house. if you could manage to attach one to my feet to keep them warm, well that might be nifty. but til technology catches up, i'm happy to keep the lo-tech option of positioning myself to keep my feet in the sun or in shoes, thanks all the same). but today i actually got one that targeted my love of being asleep and staying in bed. i don't know how. but i think the address sounds like somewhere i applied for a job a year back, which would be a fairly unscrupulous use of information -- but one i'd have to tip my hat to.

i know this is no kind of answer, but i just finished reading The Land of Laughs. (i liked it, as i liked From the Teeth of Angels, but i'm still in no hurry to get through the rest of the Jonathan Carroll canon). the quote in the front is
Be regular and orderly in your life like a bourgeois, so that you may be violent and original in your work - Flaubert

This is not how it is. I think it's how i want it to be. This calls for decisions and change. I think i need to do this, because i am tired of random anger in small stupid portions.

(hah, obfuscation and avoidance that would have made me so proud as an seventeen year old!)
